It's Arbitrary as Hell
Months don't match the moon. “Month” comes from “moon.” But October is the 10th month, November is 11th, December is 12th—except deca means 10, novem means 9, decem means 11. The names are wrong. The lengths are random: 28, 30, 31, 30, 31…
Why? Because Caesar Augustus stole a day from February to make his month (August) equal to Julius Caesar's month (July). That's not astronomy. That's ego.
The 7-day week has zero astronomical basis. The moon is 29.5 days. 29.5 ÷ 7 = 4.2. Not even close. The week is arbitrary—invented by Babylonian astrologers, imposed by Rome, kept by Christianity. No sun. No moon. Just habit.
You are using a clock with only an hour hand and calling it precision.
It Ignores the Moon Completely
The Gregorian calendar is solar-only. It tracks one light and pretends the other doesn't exist. The moon—the thing that controls tides, menstruation, sleep, animal migration? Ignored.
This is like having a clock with only an hour hand. “But I can still tell time!” Yeah, poorly. You're missing half the information. The moon is the receptive, reflective, dark-to-light cycle. To suppress the moon is to suppress half of time itself.
It's Imperial Propaganda
Julius Caesar imposed the Julian calendar in 45 BCE. Pope Gregory “reformed” it in 1582 CE. Popes and emperors. Not astronomers. Not priests of El. Politicians.
The Gregorian calendar spread by colonial violence. Spain, Portugal, France imposed it on their colonies. England adopted it in 1752—and riots broke out because people thought the government was stealing 11 days of their lives. They weren't wrong.
This calendar is the timekeeping of empire—standardized, centralized, disconnected from local observation. You don't look at the sky. You look at your phone. You don't know if it's a new moon. You know it's “Tuesday.”
The calendar spread by sword and decree, not by sunrise and first crescent.
It Creates Flat Time
The old calendars had gates—solstices, equinoxes, new moons. Moments when time turned. You felt it. You prepared for it. The year had shape.
The Gregorian year is flat—January, February, March, April, forever, identical, endless. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, forever. No thresholds. No portals. Just production and rest, production and rest, until you die.
This is time as commodity—hours to be sold, not lived. The calendar doesn't care if you're tired. It doesn't care if the moon is dark. It says: Wake up. It's 7 AM. Go to work.
Daylight Saving Time Is Violence
Twice a year, the government steals an hour from your sleep. Heart attacks spike. Car accidents surge. Productivity crashes. They told you it was for farmers. Farmers hate it. They told you it was for energy. Studies show it wastes energy.
The real purpose is demonstration: to prove the state can take time from you and you'll comply. It's temporal authoritarianism—the flexing of power over your circadian rhythm, your biology, your right to sleep.
They did not ask your body. They took the hour and dared you to complain.
Clock “Noon” Is Fake
“Noon” means when the sun is at its highest point. “12:00 PM” is just a number on a clock. They are rarely the same. Your clock lies to you three different ways:
Time Zones — The Big Lie
Each U.S. time zone is 15° of longitude wide, but the sun moves across the sky continuously—not in jumps. Boston (eastern edge of Eastern Time) sees solar noon at 11:45 AM. Detroit (western edge) sees it at 1:15 PM. Both phones say “12:00.” The sun says you're lying—90 minutes apart.
The Equation of Time — The Wobble
Earth's orbit is elliptical. We speed up and slow down. So even at the center of your zone, solar noon drifts: 11:45 AM in November, 12:15 PM in February. The clock ticks at the same speed forever. The sun doesn't.
Daylight Saving — The Insult
Then they steal another hour. Solar noon at 12:30? Now it's 1:30. Your body expects peak light at 12:30 for eight months of the year and never gets it.
| City | Clock “Noon” | True Solar Noon | Error |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boston, MA | 12:00 PM | 11:42 AM | 18 min early |
| Detroit, MI | 12:00 PM | 1:12 PM | 72 min late |
| Indianapolis, IN | 12:00 PM | 12:48 PM | 48 min late |
| Phoenix, AZ (no DST) | 12:00 PM | 12:18 PM | 18 min late |
| Western Nebraska | 12:00 PM | 11:15 AM | 45 min early |
Approximate typical values — the exact solar noon shifts daily with the equation of time. The app computes your true solar noon from your coordinates, date, and timezone.
Your “lunch hour” at 12:00 PM might be 11:15 AM solar time or 1:15 PM solar time. Your body knows. Your gut, your cortisol, your melatonin—they're confused by the disconnect.
This matters for the practice, too: the T-posture at solar noon is meant to align you with the sun at its peak—the gate fully open. Do it at clock noon in Boston and you're 18 minutes late; the sun is already descending. Do it at clock noon in Detroit and you're 72 minutes early; the gate hasn't opened. The app accounts for your longitude, the equation of time, and the stolen DST hour, and tells you: “True solar noon today: 12:47 PM. Prepare your T-posture.”
Clock time is arbitrary. Solar time is real. The calendar refuses to tell you the difference—because admitting it would end the whole game.
It Disconnects You From Your Body
Your body knows the real calendar. Your gut expects seasonal food. Your sleep expects darkness. Your energy expects solar noon—not clock noon, which varies by 30 minutes from true noon depending on your longitude.
The Gregorian calendar says: Ignore your body. Obey the clock. Eat strawberries in December at 10 PM under LED lights. Wake at 6 AM in winter darkness. Work until 5 PM in summer sunlight. Your biology is wrong. The schedule is right.
This is why you're tired. This is why you need caffeine, melatonin, antidepressants, stimulants—to force your body to accept flat time.
It Has No Memory
The old calendars remembered. The 19-year cycle. The 70 sons. The 200 Watchers. The gates. The mounds. Generational knowledge.
The Gregorian calendar remembers nothing. Each year is identical to the last. January 1, 2026 is the same as January 1, 2027. No spiral. No return. No “where were we 19 years ago?” Just reset, repeat, forget.
This is time as amnesia—cut off from the past, disconnected from the future, trapped in an eternal present of schedules and deadlines.
The Alternative
- —Tracks both sun and moon
- —Has gates—thresholds where time turns
- —Reconciles every 19 years—the spiral closes
- —Names the true time—Anagantios, not “August”
- —Aligns with your body—sleep when dark, wake when light
- —Connects you to 70 generations of keepers
You don't have to use the dumb calendar. You can keep time with El. With the Watchers. With the moon.
The choice is yours. But now you know what you're choosing.
